George Pinnell, Sr. and George Pinnell, Jr. established Pinnell Office Machines in 1937. The main line of office equipment that Pinnell first distributed was adding machines.
As the office equipment industry progressed and changed, so has Pinnell. In 1953 we opened an office in Pasco, Washington.
As more office equipment was invented Pinnell took on more products, trying to always stay on the leading edge of technology. In 1956 Pinnell began selling hand duplicating equipment and cash registers. In 1963, Pinnell moved their office to 805 Summitview, where we remained until January 2007. They also changed their name from Pinnell Office Machines to Pinnell, Inc.
In 1973, Rick Pinnell, grandson to George Sr. joined the company as a Division Sales Manager. He had worked for Dictaphone Corporation in San Francisco. He brought with him word processing, which was just beginning. Pinnell began selling word processors as well as Dictaphone equipment.
Rick Pinnell was appointed President of Pinnell, Inc. in 1980 and we continued to grow. Adding voice mail, phone systems, faxes, and finally hitting our stride with digital products, printers and software.
After deciding to retire Rick Pinnell sold his business to company called Imagine Technology Group. In April 2004, Imagine Technology sold to Global Imaging Systems
As part of the Global Imaging Systems, Pinnell has been able to provide our employees with a phenomenal benefit package, a solid business plan and yet retain local autonomy.
In May 2007, Global Imaging Systems merged with Xerox. While Global remains a wholly owned subsidary of Xerox, local dealers, such as Pinnell are able to continue with their business model while adding award winning Xerox equipment to our product line.
Going forward we look to our past to remind us of the significance of our community partners and the strength in believing in the importance of doing whatever it takes to exceed our customer's expectations.
